Frequently asked questions

What is an AVR converter?

An AVR converter turns an existing music cue sheet into the standardised AVR+ JSON format. You upload a cue sheet (for example a CSV or Excel file) and it produces a schema-valid AVR+ file you can deliver to a performing rights organisation (PRO) or broadcaster. See What is AVR+? for the full explainer.

What is the AVR+ cue sheet format?

AVR+ is a standardised JSON schema for audiovisual production music cue sheets. It captures production information, every music cue with its underlying works and recordings, and metadata about the cue sheet itself, so royalty data can be exchanged consistently between production companies, broadcasters and PROs. It is published by CISAC; see the official AVR+ documentation.

Which cue sheet formats can I convert to AVR+?

The converter targets:

  • RapidCue / US (XLSX)
  • APRA AMCOS / Australia (CSV)
  • IPRS / India (XLSX)
  • SACEM / France (XLSX)
  • Generic CSV and Excel cue sheets

Leave the source format on auto-detect and the tool will try to identify common layouts for you.

Is the AVR converter free to use?

Yes, it's a free tool from West One Music. While you're here, take a look at our production music catalogue.

What's the difference between an EDL converter and an AVR converter?

An EDL converter builds a cue sheet from a video editing timeline (a Pro Tools EDL or Final Cut FCPXML, for instance). An AVR converter goes the other way: it takes a finished cue sheet and standardises it into the AVR+ format. West One Music offers both.
